Assault and Battery Charges
Yuma, Arizona
In a heated argument or disagreement, some individuals may let the situation become violent or threatening. If this happens, assault charges may be brought against the aggressive party. From a bar fight to a domestic violence situation, an individual can be charged with assault and battery and later face serious penalties for their actions.

What Is Assault and Battery?
In its most basic form, assault and battery is a misdemeanor charge where a person was:
- physically injured

- touched by another person intent on injury
Assault charges can be Class 1 or 2 misdemeanors and each carry a specific jail sentence and heavy fine; consulting an experienced criminal defense attorney can help prevent these serious penalties.
